What occurred at Princeton Seminary basically repeated itself at Fuller with debates over the statement of faith and departure from sound biblical roots. The process of decline took about forty-eight years at Princeton and around thirty-one years at Fuller. It’s happening much quicker in today’s church. The term “evangelical” now must be clearly defined in conversations because it has become discredited and vague as it relates to accurately describing Christianity.

Entering Fuller Seminary, the class of 1950 came in with a 75 percent belief that the Bible is inerrant. Upon graduation in 1952, approximately 48 percent remained firm in that view. Those were the early days. By 1982, it was reported that the commitment to inerrancy had dropped to 15 percent of graduates from Fuller Theological Seminary! Compromise and accommodation produced tragic results which continue diluting Christianity in America today.[1]
